Alien First Contact on Jupiter!

Matthew Raimey was a rather self-centered young man. He was in his early twenties, newly graduated from business school, and literally had his whole life ahead of him – that is, until the skiing accident that left him paralyzed from the neck down. Continue reading Alien First Contact on Jupiter!

A 200-yr old Teenager, a Space Elf, and a Killer-Alien-Plant

I listened to the conclusion of The Aurora Cycle series by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff. It’s a three-book series consisting of Aurora Rising, Aurora Burning, and Aurora’s End. All three books demonstrate, in my opinion, excellent story-telling skills. It has a plot that isn’t entirely predictable, characters that you learn to love or appreciate, action to keep things popping, and the usual romance. Seeking to centralize real power in his figurehead Fanged Throne, Emperor Felipe of Nuevaropa sets off a chain of wars that may blaze … Continue reading Dinosaurs and Field Guides

The Clone Wars may be over, but a new war is just beginning

Ahsoka is an excellent read for any Star Wars fan. I didn’t find any objectionable content in the story and would have no problem with my middle-grade and almost-teenager read it. I had a little trouble following where exactly Ahsoka was as she bounced from planet to planet (moon to moon?), but the story contained the usual Star Wars action, which is always fun for us as readers. The story also connects how Ahsoka becomes associated with the Rebel Alliance in its early days. Continue reading The Clone Wars may be over, but a new war is just beginning
