This site is the immortalization of my nonsensical musings about books, photography, voiceovers, and other things that pop into my head.
Books
These are the books I read. I love books. I collect them. I enjoy the weight of them in my hand and the feel of the paper. Nothing beats the smell of a good, mass-market paperback – am I right?!
The sections below represent the major categories that I currently use to organize my blog posts about books. Each header is a link to the corresponding page, category or tag. I have also included that last three blog posts from each.
Wait. What? Yeah, you’re just going to have to read the book to find out. I really try not to spoil these books with my “reviews”, but it’s really hard not to give some detail. I mean, I don’t want to just regurgitate the synopsis as printed on the book. That’s not very creative. Continue reading I Can’t Believe You Smashed My Glass Dragon Spaceship!
You know me. I’m a sucker for science fiction, but every once in a while, I’ll venture outside of my comfort zone and read something else, like historical fiction. Read on to see what I thought about Stay Alive by Rodman Philbrick. Continue reading All I want for Christmas is not to die
Andy Marino’s Escape from Chernobyl is a great read for young and old alike. This historical fiction depicts the very real events of April 26, 1986 through the eyes of fictional characters. Continue reading This is a Test. This is Only a Test.

Selections from Chapters 4 and 5 of Dance of the Nutcracker by Paul Thompson and Crazy Faith by Michael Todd Things are really starting to heat up in Dance of the Nutcracker! In Chapter Four, Fritz plans his escape from prison, and in Chapter Five, he has an unpleasant encounter with the Malregent, the tyrannical… Continue reading David Narrates Books
In Episode Three of David Narrates Books, I read a section of Chapter Two, whine a little bit about difficult character voices and talk about this excellent app I’ve been using called Detail. Continue reading Keeping Track of all these Voices is Hard!

This is where it all begins. An Earth-like planet is detected only 8 light-years from the Sol system, and humanity is desperate to find a potential new home since Earth is suffering the effects of centuries of abusing the planet’s resources. Continue reading Much to everyone’s surprise, humans save the day in this one
Survival is the conclusion of the Star Quest series by Ben Bova. Having traveled farther into space than anyone has ventured thus far, this group of human saviors discovers a race of artificially intelligent beings that don’t need saving. Continue reading I’m afraid we can’t allow you to leave
It took me nearly the entire year to complete this book, but it was definitely an interesting look at the history behind the airship and the airplane. If this is an area of interest for you, I would encourage you to read or listen to this book. Continue reading I Finally Finished It!
Resilient was written during, and partially in response to, some of the tensest and most difficult hours of the COVID-19 pandemic. John Eldredge has been a Christian counselor for several decades and has written many books that help Christians put their physical, emotional, and spiritual lives in perspective. Continue reading Resilient
As a parent, I am entering that dreaded phase of parenting a teenager, with two more not far behind. I anticipate blinking only a few more times before my kids are adults, so I’m glad that I have found Amy’s book now, while there’s a little time left to capture. Now, that’s not to say… Continue reading Dad, why do you take so many pictures?

The Book Ratings pages describes how my brain works when it comes to the star ratings you see on my blog posts. It’s very subjective. I could be more objective, but “Ain’t nobody got time for dat!”
The Book Index is exactly what it sounds like. It’s a listing of all the books I mention in my blog posts. They are organized in groups by the first letter of the title of the book, except where the first word is “The.” Adding the books to the index is a manual process, so for the time being, the titles are not perfectly arranged in alphabetical order. At some point, I’m going to have to figure out a better way to arrange the titles so that they can be put in alphabetical order more easily.
